Kids in Portland working off some holiday pounds old world style.

One footers aren't cool I guess.

I work for backcountry.com chatting with all kinds of people who need help. Here is a little taste of what I deal with.

adum: and do you think its really necessary to have a stomp pad?
Ben L.: No but they are fun for 1 footers.
adum: i think people who do one footers are fags
adum: so im not gonna get one

I think I will start saving some more of these and posting my favorites each week.

Can't stay away

Noah and I went back to Labrador this morning. We poached a few fast runs and then some other friends showed up. Wondering what we could get ourselves into, we remembered the good ole secret spot we had built last year in the woods. This time we knew it may not all be intact as we had much more snow last year, but what the heck, it'd be an adventure. So, Noah, myself, and Jason all took a hike up there. A stealth like route was taken as not to be seen.
Upon arrival we found this gem.
New neighbors. Real rustic types.

Luckily the main log jam, professionally crafted by Noah was still standing.
Noah can be a tweaker sometimes. Not so much off the board, but on, Yup.
Screen grabbin'.

A few hits and we were headed back to do some more fast laps, each one clocking in around 2- 2 1/2 minutes tops. Another great day back home!

Home Sweet Home

I arrived in New York last night to find Labrador Mountain was opening in the morning. A phone call to Noah, (a member of the Farm who'll be spending the winter months back east) and it was decided; we must be there bright and early.
A quick drive through the rolling hills dusted with crisp white snow and we arrived. Snow guns a blasting, and many  familiar faces greeted our arrival. With two runs open and no rails set up, we created what you'll see below.

Boardin' with Noah always gets the juices flowing.

Juicy boogies form a snake like trail when it's a high of 16 degrees.

Noah stood here in this position for a while until the sun came through the grey cloud cover, can't beat ending the day in some sweet sunshine.

Open until close. Not quite, but close enough. Watch the moving pictures below. I swear you'll be impressed.
I was.

Great Days.

Picking up my sister from the airport this past friday night, I thought "Awesome, Courtney's here for a bit, my birthday is coming up quick, it'll be great!" Little did I know...

Saturday began with some boardin', snow was beginning to fall.
Laker's came to Energy Solutions Areana... and lost.

Sunday, wake up, check the avalanche report/snow report, 36 inches in the past 24 hrs. serious snow... Head to Brighton. Snow all day, and hard.

Monday, birthday, tired from the day before, even more snow around 40-50 all said and done. Brighton again. Get home and relax, fire in the hearth, and 21st birthday stuff. Trampled by Turtles was playing at the Urban Lounge and did not dissapoint! Same car from the day before. Still buried. Myself, snowy beard.
Courtney, first visit to Utah. Will the snow bring her back?
Rich pondering. He's a thinker.
Pleasant lift rides all day long, to accompany the wondrous snow.

Thank you all for a great few days! Thanks sis for coming to visit!!

Happy Birthday Ben!

Ben Farrell turns 21 today! Oh what a joyous occasion. There will be much celebrating as there is snow in the mountains, beers in the bar and music at Urban. Go see the show and wish him a happy birthday yourself.
Ben is the best kid ever. Period. He's a handsome, strapping young man with a big heart and a good head on his shoulders. He's got more energy than anyone I've ever met and is always excited for an adventure. I've known Ben since we were in middle school and started skating together. Quite frankly my parents thought he was on speed 24/7. But those were the old days and now we are living in Salt Lake scrounging for money and trying to ride as much as we can. I love riding with Ben because he sees things a lot differently than most do, always good for some kind of interesting situation. I've been traveling with Ben a lot in the past 3-4 years, seeing much of this country together and feel very blessed to have him as a friend. His love for life is obvious, in his face and in his actions and by the way he treats the relationships he holds dear to him. He is a tremendous person, what else can I say.

Here's a part Ben made a couple years ago from his footage.

From myself and everyone at The Farm we love you Ben!

Ben's almost a man!

Well, on my birthday I got the pleasure of riding with the Bens. What a fabulous way to celebrate another year of being alive. Later that evening the party moved over to la casa de ricardo sucio and then finally to the bar. We were shuttled to and from by my great friend Ben Farrell who is not quite twenty one, the day after tomorrow is the big day. Anyway, while we were all out partying and trying to start various hootananies, he was home making this edit. Stay tuned for Ben's Birthday Bash, which will likely be much more exciting considering there's going to be some pow!

There it is!

Happy Birthday Torrey

It's Torrey's Birthday today! He's getting manlier and hairier than ever. You should see his beard! I met Torrey just over a year ago at a video premiere he and a few of my friends were in. He was carrying a back pack full of beers and without even asking my name began sharing. We slammed beers in the bathroom and scared little kids and it was the best introduction I have ever had.
Now I am living with Torrey and proud to call him my friend.
Torrey moved out here this year to board and is already loving Utah. Logging shots through the cold nights and washing dishes by day. He loves his Dew and rides boards that can't catch edges. He's a good guy that is always down to drink whiskey with me and skates like a champ.

Check out his interview on snowrev.

And also check out Torrey and Ricky in this video from a two seasons ago.

From myself and everyone on The Farm Happy Birthday Torrey we love you!

Go Bills

I didn't want to turn this into a sports blog but Lucey already blew it on that. Here at Animal Farm we are getting so big we have our own correspondent for our favorite NFL team, the Buffalo Bills. Matt Piasecki, gives us his take on this weeks Thursday night game against the NY Jets.
